KNOX BOX INFORMATION
A Knox Box is a lockable, indestructible box placed on your residence or business that contains keys to your property. Several types of buildings are required by code to have a Knox Box installed on their building (check Knox Box requirements below). This box can only be opened by the fire department using a special key. This key is electronically secured inside each of our fire trucks. Having access to a key to your property prevents us from having to force the door open or wait for someone to arrive during an emergency. The program is free to participate in and only requires the one time cost of the Knox Box. Property owners can place more than just entry keys inside. It is common to find other documents, such as contact or medical info, maps of hazards, or any other pertinent information. To order a Knox Box, simply visit knoxbox.com (see instructions below) or stop by the fire station during regular business hours to pick up an order form. If you still have questions about the program please call (609) 259-7814 x 4103 to speak with the Fire Official.

Residential Installations
Knox HomeBox is a single key vault that provides homeowners with the same secure rapid access system that currently protects hundreds of thousands of government and commercial properties. The Knox HomeBox is not required by code for residential structures and does not require an approval process through the fire department. The residential Knox HomeBox is available for purchase at knoxbox.com. We request that if a Knox HomeBox is installed on a residential structure that notification be made to the fire department by contacting the Fire Official noted at the top of this page.
